1. Who we are
Ornamentals Gem Craft Limited (“we”, “us”) supplies tiles, marble and granite across Nigeria from showrooms in Agbor and Owerri. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. This policy explains what we collect when you use our website or contact us, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you send an enquiry from your cart or a message from the contact page, we collect:
- your name, phone number and email address;
- the message or request you write, such as a delivery location or project details;
- the products, sizes and quantities in your cart.
Information collected automatically. When you send a form, we record your IP address and browser details (user agent) with it. We use these to keep the website secure and to prevent spam and abuse. Our server logs may also record technical information about requests to the website.
Your cart. Items you add to your cart are stored in your own browser (local storage) and stay on your device until you send an enquiry.
3. How we use your information
- to reply to your enquiry or message, confirm availability, delivery and final prices, and handle your order;
- to email you a confirmation, with your reference number, when you write to us through the contact form;
- to arrange delivery of goods you have ordered;
- to keep records of enquiries and orders, and to handle complaints or disputes;
- to protect the website and our business from spam, fraud and misuse;
- to meet our legal and accounting obligations.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making, and we do not sell it.
4. Our lawful bases
We process your information because you ask us to take steps before an order (answering your enquiry and preparing an order), because you consent when you submit a form, because we have a legitimate interest in running and securing our business and responding to the people who contact us, and, where it applies, because we are required to by law. Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time by contacting us.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal information only where it is needed to run the service:
- Service providers that host the website, store our data and deliver email on our behalf;
- Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that forms are filled in by people and not by bots, and may receive technical information from your browser to do so;
- Google Fonts, which supplies the website’s typefaces and receives your IP address when your browser loads them;
- WhatsApp (Meta), if you choose to message us there or use the button that opens a chat with your enquiry. Your use of WhatsApp is covered by its own privacy policy;
- Delivery partners who need your name, phone number and delivery address to bring your order to you;
- Authorities or advisers where the law requires it, or where we need professional advice.
These providers may process information outside Nigeria. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is protected.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. The website stores your cart in your browser’s local storage so that it is still there when you come back. The Turnstile security check may use cookies or similar storage as part of its work. Staff who sign in to manage the website receive a sign-in cookie, which is used only for that purpose. You can clear or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings, although the cart and forms may then not work as expected.
7. How long we keep it
We keep enquiries and orders for as long as we need them to deal with your request, to keep proper business and accounting records, and to handle any questions or disputes afterwards. When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
8. Keeping it safe
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including access controls, protected staff accounts, and encrypted connections on the website. No method of storing or sending information is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you have rights over your personal information, including the right to:
- ask whether we hold information about you and get a copy of it;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information, or to restrict how we use it;
- object to us using your information in certain ways;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it;
- receive your information in a commonly used format, where that applies.
To use any of these rights, email us at [email protected] or message us on WhatsApp, and quote your reference number if you have one. We may need to confirm your identity first. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you also have the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
10. Children
Our website is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you think a child has sent us their details, please contact us and we will delete them.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The version on this page is the current one, and the date below shows when it was last updated.
12. Contact us
For any question about this policy or your personal information, email us at [email protected] or message us on WhatsApp, or visit one of our showrooms in Agbor or Owerri.
